Reflection #2

Actions: I met with Sharon and Eric Lewis to set goals about my project and student leaders. Eric suggested that I research Vision 2025 to talk about how my project aligns with our district goals.

What went well?

Eric helped me select Leadership, Empathy & Collaboration as the graduating goal for my 5th grade student leaders. I set goals for their participation based off of this SFUSD graduate profile.

Challenges

Eric also put me in touch with Ariel Burwick from Marina Middle School. Toward the end of the year it was challenging to schedule collaboration between our students. I was able to introduce Taniyah to her since she will be transitioning to Middle School. The interactions between the middle school students and my student leaders had to be an asynchronous activity.

Aha Moments

I realized that I was running out of inspiration and ideas for how to keep students engaged online. I asked student leaders to observe Mission Science visits with me and we used this to inform our planning.

Questions

How can I structure my planning and reflection time with student leaders? How do we make this time more meaningful for them as learners and leaders?
